The AEFE network

The AEFE network

The AEFE is a national public agency under the administration of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France that assures the quality of schools teaching the French national curriculum outside France. Its two main missions are ensuring contimuity in the public education service for French children outside France and helping spread the French language and culture abroad.

This school network is the largest of its kind in the world and gathers 492 establishments with over 350,000 students in 137 countries. Aside from its size, the network is also unique for its values and for the quality and consistency of the teaching provided in all its accredited schools.

Excellence, sharing, influence.. The teaching provided within French primary and secondary schools is innovative, open to the host countries' culture and language and oriented towards foreign languages learning from kindergarten onwards. It prepares students for their future as multilingual and multicultural citizens and actors in global societies. The schools in the network must thus reconcile a French-style education with international-standard teaching, and promotion of the French language with the development of multilingualism - objective undoubtedly achieved in view of the outstanding results of our students: a Baccalaureat pass rate of 95% and 2/3 of the students passing with honours.
