The French School celebrates music!
The Christmas concert was such a big success that we decided to regroup for the traditional Music Festival celebration.
Students from Kindergarten to Year 5 met together in the Hall every second week of the year to rehearse the songs. Choir practice invariably begins with exercises of relaxation, breathing, enunciation and voice. This allows the children to focus their attention before singing or learning new songs.
On the 20th June, in front of a full house of parents and friends, the children from the three choirs sang in French and English. They all felt very proud to be on stage. They thoroughly deserved the thunderous applause which followed the concert: the time they each invested throughout the year was well spent and the show they put on was of excellent quality.
The thing that was the most enjoyable for me as choirmaster was to see how much each child loved learning and singing both modern and more traditional songs!
This year you will be happy to hear that choir practice has already started.
See you soon for more visual and vocal delights!
Musically,
Emmanuelle Brice
