Recycling Poster Competition Awards
To celebrate National Recycling Week (10-16 November 2008) Randwick City Council invited all the primary schools in the area to participate in a
Recycling Poster Competition.
We discussed the benefits of recycling in our English classes and many students then participated in the competition. They had to design a poster giving general information about recycling, one that showed correct recycling practices or one that showed the benefits of recycling.
We are pleased to announce that our school won the grand prize of a $500 book voucher for the most entries. Congratulations to all who entered!!
Special congratulations must go to Tara-Maria Nayfeh (CE1B) who won the Year Two individual prize of a $50 book voucher. Tara-Maria's poster will soon be displayed with all the other winning posters in Bowen Library. Well done!
This morning we were honoured to receive a visit from the Mayor, Cr Bruce Notley-Smith, who came to our school to present the prizes in person.
This was followed by a special morning tea with the Mayor for Tara-Maria and her parents.
