Speech Therapist
The French School of Sydney offers the service of a speech therapist to screen problems with written and oral language.
The
Speech Therapist works with the teachers to detect eventual problems
with speech (pronunciation, stuttering), spoken language (language
delay, dysphasia, difficulties related to bilingualism,) or of written
language (dyslexia, agraphia, etc....).
If,
after consultation with a teacher, it is envisaged to do an assessment
on a student, the parents will be consulted for their authorisation.
This
systematic screening allows us to act faster and earlier in the
schooling of the student in order to precipitate the inset of any
emerging problems.
The Speech Therapist, Dr Bernadette Rigaudeau-McKenna, is bilingual and qualified in speech in France and Australia.
The parents of students may contact the Speech Therapist to obtain more information.
