M. Gilles Joseph visits Condorcet
Mr Joseph, who is
responsible for the AEFE Asia Pacific Zone visited us from the 9th to the 11th February and held many meetings and interviews with members of the school community: students, parents, teachers and administrative and teaching staff. Mr Joseph reaffirmed the importance of the French International School in the AEFE network. It is in fact the only school in Australia under agreement with the AEFE.
Mr Joseph informed us of a very generous contribution from the AEFE:
• Offer of a grant of 600,000 euros over 3 years to help in the development of the school (gym, canteen, school premises and administration)
• Offer of help for staffing with the arrival of an expatriate Administrative and Financial Director to optimise our development projects (at no cost to the school)
• Offer of Help in staffing with the arrival of a resident Sport Teacher to aid in the implantation of an ambitious sport project (at a reduced cost to the school)
There are many projects underway for the school this year:
Structural projects:
• Commencement of construction of the new gym in March 2010
• Creation of new classrooms, modernisation of the administration building
• Reflection on the extension of the school canteen
• Upgrading of the fire alarm system to conform to standards
Pedagogical projects:
• implementation of the project of sports classes
• reform of the high school and the IB
The school would like to thank Mr Joseph for his visit and from the strong message of support from the AEFE.
