Life is very pleasant in this part of Australia. With its year-round sunny climate and the endless beautiful scenery, Sydney offers plenty of things to see and do; nature, sports, outdoor activities, as well as an urban lifestyle rich with culture. Sydney is also known to be family friendly city, a great home for those with children.

Housing

LCS is located in Maroubra, in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, just minutes from Coogee and Maroubra beaches and about 30 minutes from Sydney’s city centre. A modest house (2 to 3 bedrooms) in Maroubra can be rented for between 700 and 850 AUD per week, and an apartment (2 bedrooms) for between 620 and 820 AUD per week. Please note that these rates are for information purposes only.

Rent is generally paid weekly. Real estate agencies usually demand two weeks’ rent to be paid in advance, as well as a deposit or bond the equivalent of one month’s rent which is generally refunded at the time of departure upon approval of the state of the accommodation. Please note that the deposit amounts to 6 weeks’ rent for furnished accommodation. A reference required by the estate agency can be provided by the LCS.

Further Information

The cost of living is relatively high in this part of Australia. Housing and childcare are the main expenses. The rest of the expenditure remains relatively close to the standard of living in a large French city.
