Secondary School Library

The secondary school’s library is at the centre of Lycée Condorcet’s school life. It provides students with the opportunity to study, read and expand their knowledge in a quiet and bright environment.

The library, in addition to being conducive to exchanges between teachers and students, promotes culture and hosts various exhibitions. Thus, it is at the crossroads of both information and culture which it makes accessible to all. The library is involved in cultural and humanitarian events and projects of the school.

Documentation Software

The secondary school library – the CDI – uses the BCDI documentation software, published by the Canopé de Poitou-Charentes network. This is a management software used for searching and distributing documents from a documentation centre or library. The software is linked to the E-Sidoc platform where you can consult the catalogue and stay up to date with events.

Orientation Space

The CDI possesses a number of publications and websites devoted to tertiary studies and career guidance, as well as the Orientation Office which is run by the Guidance Officer, Mr Vincent.

Visiting the Library

Junior secondary students have free access to the library during morning recess and their lunch break. Senior secondary students are free to come to the Iibrary at any time of the day. The conditions of access depend on activities taking place at the library at that time (class, number of students already present). Priority is given to students who want to work on the computers and/or read. As soon as they arrive, students register on an attendance list.

Borrowing Rules

Borrowing School Textbooks

Lycée Condorcet lends our students the textbooks and literary works studied during the year. Each book must be covered with transparent paper and students are asked to take care of these resources. Any book lost or damaged shall be reimbursed at the publisher’s purchase price.

A document is given to each pupil at the beginning of the year when the textbooks are distributed, reminding them of the principle of lending these resources and providing some practical information. This document must be read, completed and signed by the parents.

Computers and Printing

If a student wishes to work with a computer, he/she must respect the Lycée’s Computer Charter. He/she must register in the booklet provided for this purpose. Students are welcome to print their work at the library.
