Principal of Lycée Condorcet the International French School of Sydney at the evening of
Last week at Lycée Condorcet students, staff and families celebrated the French language through a number of activities, projects and contests. On Wednesday, we invited the winners of these contests in to a special celebration, a “Soirée” to enjoy this beautiful language in the presence of Monsieur le Consul de France, H.E. Martin Juillard. The list of winners for the spelling bee, Word Games, and other competitions was long, and we congratulate all the winners. Our music teacher, Madame Yumiko Yamaji, played a captivating piece by Debussy on the piano before Monsieur le Consul gave a beautiful speech recalling with Cioran that “We do not inhabit a country, we inhabit a language. A homeland is that and nothing else.” Thanks to the LCS choir students for interpreting such wonderful songs with so much emotion, and to the parents who came in large numbers. See you in 2024!
